These terms apply to all quotes, invoices and work we carry out for you.

  1. Who We Are
    We are a fully licensed NSW contractor specialising in non-structural carpentry and kitchen, bathroom & laundry renovations.
  2. Scope of Work
    The work we will carry out is exactly as described in the signed quote titled “Scope of Works”. Anything not listed in writing is excluded.
  3. Licence & Insurance
  • NSW Contractor Licence (Carpentry + Kitchen/Bathroom/Laundry Renovation)
  • Public & Products Liability Insurance – $20 million
  • All specialist subcontractors (plumbers, electricians, waterproofers) are separately licensed and insured
    Copies of licences and certificates of currency are available on request.
  1. Home Building Compensation (HBC) / Home Warranty Insurance
  • Jobs $20,000 and under (incl. GST): HBC cover is not required and is not provided.
  • Jobs over $20,000 (incl. GST): We will obtain and give you the HBC certificate before taking any money or starting work (as required by law).
  1. Pricing & Payment Schedule (NSW-compliant)
  • Deposit: Maximum 10% of total price (legally required limit).
  • Progress payments: Only payable on completion of agreed stages (e.g. demolition, cabinet install, tiling, practical completion).
  • Final payment: 10% payable on the day of Practical Completion (when the area is finished and ready to use).
  • All payments due within 5 business days of invoice.
  • Overdue accounts attract interest at 10% p.a. and we may suspend work until paid.
  1. Variations
    All changes must be agreed and priced in writing (text or email is fine) before we start the extra work. We add a fair margin of 25–30% on subcontractor and material costs for variations.
  2. Start & Completion Dates
    Dates shown are estimates only. We are not liable for delays caused by weather, material shortages, council approvals, or changes you request.
  3. Your Responsibilities
  • Clear site access during normal working hours (7 am – 5 pm Mon–Sat)
  • Protect or move your own furniture and belongings
  • Obtain any strata / owners-corporation approval (unless we expressly agree in writing to do it)
  • Keep the site safe and notify us of any hazards
  1. Guarantees & Defects (this is the strongest protection you can legally give)
    We guarantee:
  • All labour and materials will be supplied with due care and skill and be fit for purpose (Australian Consumer Law statutory guarantees).
  • 12-month warranty on our workmanship from the date of Practical Completion.
  • We will fix (free of charge) any defect in our workmanship notified in writing within 12 months.
    We are not responsible for:
  • Pre-existing building defects or movement
  • Normal wear and tear or misuse
  • Products you supplied or specifically instructed us to use
  • Work carried out by your nominated suppliers

Governing Law
New South Wales and Australian Consumer Law.

Limitation of Liability (allowed under NSW law)
Our liability is limited to (at our choice):
(a) re-supplying the services, or
(b) paying the cost of having the services re-supplied.
We are not liable for consequential or indirect loss (e.g. hotel costs, loss of rent).

Cancellation
You may cancel any time before work starts, but you must pay for any materials specially ordered or costs we have already incurred.
We may cancel if you fail to pay a progress claim or deny site access.

Disputes
We will always try to resolve any problem quickly and fairly. If we cannot, either party may take the matter to the NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) – no lawyers needed for claims under $30,000.
